Jeu de Boules Bond – Ine Klosters - Director Jeu de Boules Bond

3 insights that took our team from putting out fires to focus.

When I started as director at the Jeu de Boules Bond, I found a team that was largely self-managing. That gave freedom, but it also created a lot of ad-hoc work. Whoever called got the attention. The result was a team constantly putting out fires and the fallout was stress, restlessness, and dissatisfaction. My question was: how do we bring focus back, so people can actually do their work?

Insight and confirmation.

The Teamenergy approach gave us both insight and confirmation. We saw that there was plenty of passion in the team, but also that people needed room to focus on what really matters.

By setting clearer priorities and shielding the team better from ad-hoc work, we created more calm. Team members were interrupted less and had clearer tasks. That gave them back the sense that they could do their work well.

Leading more effectively as director.

For me as director, Teamenergy gave me the language and tools to name what I see happening in the team. Where I used to lead mostly on gut feeling, I can now analyze more precisely where something is getting out of balance.

That helps me step in more purposefully and support the team better. As a result, the team knows more clearly what’s expected and functions more steadily.

More focus and collaboration.

An important insight was just how crucial space is. Not only freedom, but the space to do the work well.

By actively steering toward that, more focus emerged. Team members have a better grasp of their role and can concentrate on their tasks. As a result, the team works more calmly and is getting closer to a genuine flow.

Balance between performing and catching your breath.

The second measurement showed the team moving from “Olympic flame” toward more comfortable passion. We didn’t see that as a step back, but as a natural balance.

Not having to run at full intensity all the time creates room to reflect and to collaborate better. That balance helps the team stay strong for the long term.

An approach for leadership and team conversations.

I also use Teamenergy in one-on-one conversations with employees. It helps make topics like development, workload, and motivation concrete and easy to discuss.

For the team, it means we deliberately pause to reflect on how we collaborate. Not just pushing ahead, but also checking how things really are. And every team deserves that.

"Before, I mostly steered on gut feeling. With the Teamenergy approach I can pinpoint much better where things sit in the team dynamics and what the team needs to function well."
